Hardcore hentai seems to have taken the internet by storm. It is estimated that there are more than ten million adult websites out there in the wired, and it would not likely be an outrageous guess to say that a good percentage of them are either devoted to or contain some measure of XXX hentai material. Just a few years ago, adult anime and manga work was a fringe item, hardly on the online adult entertainment radar. It consisted mainly of users ripping the art from Japanese hardcore hentai games and posting them on USENET or various websites. Adult entertainment is bound to surface in just about every medium under the sun. Comics, novels, video and animation have all seen the appearance of adult oriented titles. One of the last places one might really expect such to appear, though, would be in video games. While something like an adult strip poker game seems both natural and obvious, a hardcore, hentai, fantasy adventure game with playable characters, full 3D graphics, and a complete storyline seems like little more than a fanboy’s wish. Lesbian works aren’t as widespread as some might expect in the world of hardcore hentai. Before becoming a genre of its own, called “yuri”, the most one might see is a short lesbian scene in more mainstream hentai comics or videos. Early works in the genre were hardly groundbreaking, usually depicting a character that was, in every way, the typical hero, but as a female. This character would invariably rescue a damsel in distress type and the two would end up together.
